About Us
The concept for Elmhirst Packaging Ltd. was first drawn up in a University of Guelph marketing class as the distributor for a theoretical new design of biodegradable plastic retail bags made from plant cellulose.
After Elmhirst Packaging’s business plans were reviewed and held up to the scrutiny of such business leaders as John Sleeman (Sleeman Brewing) and Bill Johnson (former president and CEO of McDonalds Canada), it was incorporated in May of 2008 and quickly started off with the release of its own line of biodegradable dog waste bags, Doodeefulls.
Since then, products have been added and over half a million of our Doodeefulls dog waste bags have been sold to satisfied customers in various countries.
We began with our headquarters in Guelph Ontario however, in order to expand and have the largest possible impact; we made the decision to move to Toronto in the spring of 2009.
With our recent move to East York (a suburb of Toronto) Elmhirst Packaging Ltd. has expanded and now offers over 400 different environmentally friendly products throughout the world.
It’s been a combination of our quick turnover supply chain setup and hard working staff that has allowed us to offer our earth friendly products at people friendly prices.
While other large corporations have always seen "green" products as a way to artificially inflate prices and increase shareholder wealth, Elmhirst Packaging Ltd. remains privately owned by Peter Elmhirst who refuses to take advantage of consumers’ good intentions.
